Jay Fizzle: The rap artist keeps beating the odds with visual flexes like the ‘Free Big Unccc’ music video

Sometimes you have to take the focus off yourself and share a bigger message especially when you’re pulling for someone’s freedom. It’s all eyes on rap artist Jay Fizzle coming courtesy of his ‘Free Big Unccc’ music video.

From getting a shape-up outside to loading up GTA-type weaponry - it’s all about what Jay has to get off his chest. Tap in.

On his Fall 2025 project, Beat The Odds, Paper Route Empire rapper Jay Fizzle incorporated classic sounds from funk, soul, and R&B into his high-octane Memphis sound. The rapper renews his call to "Free Big Unccc" on the latest video from the project. A longstanding member of PRE, Big Unccc has been incarcerated for several years, though he has been in touch with his labelmates, and occasionally recording new verses, from behind bars. "Free Big Unccc" is a hard-knocking tribute from Fizzle to his PRE brother, taking inspiration from Unccc's signature "uh uh" ad-lib to stunt on his foes. In the video, Fizzle and his associates rock "Free Big Unccc" t-shirts and make sure that Unccc's name still rings bells in their shared hometown of Memphis.

Released in September, Beat The Odds is a 9-track ode to hard work and dedication, devoted to the art of executing a long-term plan to perfection. Spitting double-time in his signature tumbling flow, Fizzle alternates outlandish flexes with pearls of street wisdom, as he offers authentic advice for other trench babies attempting to overcome adversity.

Beat The Odds benefits from Jay Fizzle's exquisite ear for production, incorporating new elements into his Tennessee trap sound. "Nacho Cheese" looks back to the age of electro-funk and 80s R&B, as Fizzle turns out a danceable anthem about stacking paper. "Peepin' Thru Ya Window" evokes the lush string-laden soul of the 70s, as Fizzle tries to overcome his jealousy and flexes charmingly raw melodies. Recent single "Gotta Be A Man" ft. JpOnThaTrack is an old-school country trap slapper, while "Twenty Three" ft. OJ Da Juiceman is drenched in the organ-driven pomp of the mixtape era. The mixtape culminates in "F*ck Det N****, F*ck Det B*tch," one of Fizzle's heaviest songs to date, a "he said, she said" collaboration with Tastey Michelle that finds the two Memphis natives acting out a lovers' quarrel atop overdriven guitars. Featuring additional guest appearances from his PRE cohort Key Glock and Memphis riser 5ifty Ball on "Straight Off The Dome," Beat The Odds is available on all platforms via Paper Route Empire.

With Beat The Odds, Jay Fizzle asserted himself as one of the Memphis scene's essential voices. Stay tuned for more from the prolific rapper in 2026.
