Mez delivers WAY TOO MUCH with T.I. and Deante’ Hitchcock
It’s a slow burn but the song really does slap. Going just over four minutes to deliver solid bars and impressive production? Oh yes.
GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter, producer, and director Mez shares his new single “Way Too Much” featuring T.I. and Deante’ Hitchcock. Produced by Mike & Keys and Jake One, the track offers another look at Mez’s debut album, Electric Future Gangster, arriving November 20, 2026 via Mass Appeal. Listen HERE.
“Way Too Much” takes its title from the feeling of having more to process than one person can hold. Across the song, Mez, T.I., and Deante’ Hitchcock move through the noise of other people’s opinions, the demands of everyday life, and the pressure to live up to expectations. The recurring refrain turns that overload into a blunt, memorable hook, while the verses leave room for humor, doubt, family, and the uneasy awareness of what is happening in the world.
The release follows “Platinum Fubu” featuring UMI, a more intimate look at the uncertainty of a relationship without a label. The single and its accompanying video recently drew coverage from Pigeons & Planes and VIBE. Alongside the introspective “Still Loading,” these songs reveal different sides of Electric Future Gangster, an album shaped by Mez’s experiences across music, film, relationships, and culture.
Alongside the single, Mez reveals the full tracklist for Electric Future Gangster. The album features J. Cole and Anderson .Paak on “Hell Nah,” UMI on “Platinum Fubu,” and additional appearances from Kal Banx, Sowell, Tabi, LAYA, Cyanca, and Gwen Bunn. See the complete tracklist below.
A Raleigh, North Carolina native, Mez first gained widespread recognition for writing on 14 of the 16 tracks on Dr. Dre’s Compton. He later appeared on Dreamville’s GRAMMY-nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III and made his directorial debut with the video for J. Cole’s “Middle Child.” His work behind the camera has since included projects for Jordan Brand, Nike, Ari Lennox, Isaiah Rashad, SiR, and J. Cole. Mez also founded Heirs Entertainment and its production arm, Made By Heirs.
With Electric Future Gangster due November 20, “Way Too Much” broadens the picture of an artist balancing ambition with the personal and social pressures that come with it.
