evilgiane and Slimesito today release EVILSLIME 2, the sequel to lauded 2024 collaboration EVILSLIME, alongside a video for focus track “LIK ROCKY”, whichfeatures the rapper posted up while the hazily atmospheric track plays out. EVILSLIME 2 unfurls in the shroud of a comedown, with the producer’s trademark blown out 808s and muted textures expanding to new horizons. It’s an equally insular and foreboding mood, but both evilgiane and Slimesito sound as synced up as ever, trading bars with a sense of urgency that permeates through the gloom. Primarily produced by evilgiane with no other vocal features, the project represents the most dialed-in version of the two yet, building on the undeniable chemistry that has constantly developed over years of collaboration between the duo.
The release was precluded by the Eera co-produced “GEORGIA STATE” earlier this week, and lands on the back of a busy year for evilgiane, with June’s HEAVENSGATE VOL. 2 capping off a steady run. Most recently he produced “THE RELAY feat. Novelist” from AMMI BOYZ’s debut, and collaborated on their track “GMT”. This spring also saw the release of the Surf Gang-produced Pompeii // Utility with Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE. The rapper/producer jumped on Snow Strippers’ recent Florida tour before performing at Boiler Room in Los Angeles with xaviersobased and Nettspend, as well as a stop in Taipei with 454 in October. EVILSLIME 2 is another exploratory step forward for the production duo, who traverse across scene and genre to make some of the most future-facing music in underground rap.
